All Online Distance Learning (ODL) Gemmology Diploma students are required to attend a Gemmology Diploma lab class. This allows students to learn more about the wide range of gemstones within the course and refine gem testing techniques to accurately identify gem materials. Students can attend a lab class in the UK, USA or Japan, or they can arrange to take a class with one of Gem-A's Practical Providers (GAPP).
All ODL Gemmology Diploma students are provided with a travel miscroscope, this is in addition to the equipment, stones and refractometer, received during the Foundation Course.
Students should bring all course equipment and their workbook to the lab class.
