Established in 1975, the School of Continuing Education (SCE) of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes with multi-faceted teaching approaches incorporated through its College of International Education (CIE), Continuing and Professional Education Division (CPED), Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division (ECEED) as well as Division of Nursing Education (DNE) to meet the needs and challenges of the rapidly changing society. Yip Ngai, Wilson
Mr Yip is an independent auctioneer, gemmologist and jewellery appraiser, with over 24 years of experience in the jewellery and art industry. He has been appointed as a specialist by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications and as a technical advisor (watch and jewellery) by the Employees Retraining Board. Mr Yip obtained a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from the Monash University, Australia. He is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Mr Yip was awarded a Trade Prize from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain in 1993.
Wong Tai Wai
Holding a Bachelor of Science and Master of Philosophy both in the field of Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong, Mr Wong is also FGA, DGA, and FGAHK. He holds a Diploma in Jadeite Jade (JJD) from the Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology and is the registered tutor for the Gem-A course at HKBU. In 2001, Mr Wong was a delegate at HK Gem-related Jewellery Technology Conference and his main interest is on the application of latest technology in instrumentation and material science on gem identification, synthesis, treatment and enhancement.
Ho Ka Kit
Ho Ka Kit Frankie has numerous qualifications and association memberships including FGA, DGA, GG, MV and CG. Entering the jewelry industry in 1970, Ho Kat Kit Frankie has 34 years of tutoring experience and has been teaching the Gemmology Programme at the School of Continuing Education, Hong Kong Baptist University since 1985. The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation Of Academic & Vocational Qualifications appointed Ho Ka Kit Frankie as Jewellery Specialist in 2012 and this is a role that still continues today.
Kam Siu Tong, John BA (hons), Dip. Music, LTCL , GG, FGA, DGA, FGAHK
Kam Siu Tong was Director of GAHK between 1994 and 2004 and team member and team leader of the Jadeite Testing Team, Jewelery Trade Lab Ltd between 1996 and 2004. An instructor at School of Continuing Education at Hong Kong Baptist University since 1996, Kam Siu Tong as given presentations and seminars at the Jewellery Show in Hong Kong Conventional Centre, for the Customs& Excise Department HK and at Shenzhen International Jewellery Fair.
