JTV’s mission is to provide an exceptional student learning experience and gemological enrichment and offers a fully equipped classroom and student library. JTV’s in-house instructor has over 16 years of experience in delivering Gem- A ‘s gemological programs, both in London and the USA. Classes offer a balance of both theoretical and practical content, with an additional online element for self-guided study, and supplementary student assessment.

In addition, with its own in-house jewelers and cutting facilities, JTV can provide expert guest lecturers to enhance the learning experience for students.

Our tutors are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, with real trade experience, and will ensure that you are provided with a first-class gem education. Students who study on-site are able to see and test a wide variety of gem materials under the guidance of our experienced tutors, as well as benefitting from regular practical lab classes.

    In-house tutor

    Claire Scragg began her journey with gems and jewelry in the 1990s working for two family-owned retail jewelers in Great Britain. Over that time, her fascination with gemstones grew into a passion and brought her to full-time study with Gem-A (The Gemmological Association of Great Britain).

    After graduating, Claire became a full-time staff member at Gem-A working as a Gemology and Diamond instructor at their London Headquarters (2004- 2017). Today, after moving to the USA, she continues as an online instructor for Gem-A’s ODL programme and as an ATC instructor at the JTV Gemological Training Center.

    Claire is Manager of Learning and Development at JTV (Jewelry Television) and remains dedicated to sharing her passion and knowledge of gemstones with others.

    The JTV teaching facility offers an exceptional learning environment with fully equipped stations, including microscopes, for up to 20 students. There is a student library on premises.

    In addition, with its own in-house jewelers and cutting facilities, JTV provides supplementary expert lecturers to enhance each student’s learning experience.
