The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) returns for 2020 with the world's leading coloured gemstone and cultured pearl tradeshow, GemFair Tucson.
Join us at AGTA GemFair Tucson, where we will be exhibiting in our usual place, booth 29, which is upstairs in the Galleria.
We will have our course notes available for you to peruse, along with a demonstration of the handheld gemmological instruments that we supply to our students.
Interested in learning more? On Wednesday 5 February, we will be running a workshop entitled Seeing Colour: Succeed with the Spectroscope.
Become a spectroscope super-user with this informative entry-level workshop from Gem-A. Learn the basic principles of colour and selective absorption before getting to grips with different types of portable spectroscopes. This session will cover the importance of good lighting and you will have the chance to practice useful techniques to help you get the most out of your spectroscope wherever you are. You will learn how to identify similarities between stones with distinct absorption patterns and pick out differences that aid with identification of these materials, even when other instruments are not available.
Leave this seminar with the confidence you need to work with this valuable tool and achieve reliable results.
Tutor: Charles Bexfield.
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
Location: Graham Room.
Please note that this seminar is open to everyone, and you don't need to be attending the AGTA GemFair to join. See the full overview of seminars here.
