Sunday 25th September in Bath and 23rd October near Winchester. For full details, please see either the main Gem-A Events page or the South West Branch page on the main website.
Its hoped that the meeting near Winchester (3 miles off the M3 J12 and local area map with the event details) will provide a quick and easy venue for any and all Gem-A members and all other gemmophiles. especially those based in the Hants, Dorset and South Wilts areas.Do come along for an interesting afternoon and take advantage of the reduced travelling. See you there!
Maybe a Branch meeting venue in the Cornwall, Devon and Somerset area sometime in the New Year?
J Dubya, that question is probably one for Richard, our Branch Chairman. Following a collapse last Autumn, I am now back, more or less, on an even keel. Palliative care, they call it . Oxygen and morphine in combination keep me quite comfortable but I have not (yet) returned to driving and my physical capability is pretty limited and likely to remain so. Friends and family visit now and again and, when the weather is not up to 'throwing prawns on the barbie' in the garden, there's a good pub/restaurant just over the road Given a friend to help carry spare cylinders, I can totter out and about for up to 6 - 8 hours before needing to hook up again to my big machine.
Should you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, do be sure to give me a call. There'll always a welcome, a glass of something cold, chat of things gemmy and passing gossip.....
