Asiatic Center of Gemological Services (ACGS)

ArrayACGS offers excellent class-room facilities, each student getting comfortable space to read, write, listen to the tutor, see presentations and study gemstones using instrumentation. ACGS has a collection of important reference books of Gemmology and Mineralogy, along with journals and magazines, which are made available for study on-site after the class hours. Meet the Tutors

DEEPAK BAGAI M.SC. (GEOLOGY), GG, FGA

Starting out as a geologist, Deepak Bagai obtained his Master’s degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh. After spending some time as a Research Fellow, he worked with the Department of Atomic Energy. Subsequently, he joined the Indian Police Service. However, passion for gems was always strong enough to keep up with studies of the subject including courses at GIA and then with the Gemmological Institute of India in Mumbai and finally acquiring his Gemmology Diploma from Gem-A in 1995. He remained a Visiting Tutor at GII. In 2004, he was asked by GIA to set up their education centre in Mumbai. He returned to his police job in 2008, having run the GIA School in Mumbai for 4 years. With more than 45 years of experience behind him, he is a senior teacher in the field of Gemmology. His passion for gemstones and minerals and keenness to share knowledge gives him an edge when it comes to classroom teaching and guiding the students in general.

MS. RUPALI MULLICK FGA

Rupali Mullick was educated at the King George School and in S.N.D.T. College in Mumbai. She entered the field of gems and jewellery at a young age, undertaking and completing a Diploma in Jewellery Design from IITC, Mumbai. She acquired valuable market experience, working with companies like SIA jewellery and Sparkle and Glow. Furthering her interest in gemstones, she joined a course in the Gemmological Institute of India in 2009, obtaining a Diploma in Gemmology. She was appointed as a Teaching Assistant in GII and worked with them, teaching students on a regular basis for two and a half years. Rupali joined ACGS in 2012 to help with the teaching of classes as well as testing gems and jewellery for certification. She has recently qualified in her Diploma in Gemmology from Gem-A and has become a Member to use the FGA credentials.
