Meet the Tutors

Tutor picture

Bader Al Shaybani

Bader Al Shaybani is a gemmologist at DANAT with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and minor in Business. Bader is an integral part of DANAT’s team offering his expertise in pearl, gemstone and diamond identification, scientific research as well as, teaching practical and theory based gemmological classes. As part of DANAT’s research team, Bader has contributed to research documented in “Minerals” and “Gems & Gemology”. He has achieved the Gem-A Diploma in Gemmology and the HRD Antwerp Diploma in Diamond Grading and Identification.

Fatema Al Mahmood

Fatema Al Mahmood is a gemmologist at DANAT having earned the Gem-A Diploma in Gemmology and the HRD Antwerp Diploma in Diamond Grading and Identification. She has a wide range of experience testing pearls, gemstones and diamonds at DANAT’s headquarters and at international exhibitions through DANAT’s mobile laboratory. Her passion for learning has led her to take an active role in published gemmological research, as well as, DANAT’s Education Department. Fatema holds a BSc Degree in Physics with a minor in Computer Science.

Zainab Ali

As a gemmologist working in DANAT’s laboratory, Zainab Ali has gained extensive hand-on experience testing pearls, gemstones and diamonds. She also regularly hosts various courses and webinars at DANAT to students and enthusiasts from around the world, while also contributing to DANAT’s cutting-edge gemmological research, which has been reported in key industry publications. Zainab has completed the Gem-A Diploma in Gemmology as well as the HRD Antwerp Diploma in Diamond Grading and Identification. She is a Chemistry graduate from the University of Bahrain.
