BG Gemmological Institute (BGGI)
Formerly known as Zhongyi jewelry Research Office of China Jewelry Import and Export Association, is the earliest institution engaged in jewelry identification and research in China. Now it is subordinate to China National Arts and Crafts Corporation. In 1995, it was approved by the State Administration of quality and technical supervision / China National Laboratory Accreditation Commission and the State Administration of import and export commodity inspection and quarantine. In 1996, CIBJO was recognized by CIBJO as one of the 12 laboratories recognized by CIBJO in the world and the only laboratory recognized by CIBJO in China. It passed the metrological certification of the State Bureau of Technical Supervision in 2000. It is the only jewelry authority in China that has both international and domestic certification and recognition. At the same time, it was identified as the designated appraisal and evaluation agency of jewelry involved in the case by the judicial system, and completed a lot of identification work with the judicial system. In 2016, it was listed as "world arts and crafts R & D design and trading center" by WCC expert group. In 1997, BGGI became the ATC of Gem-A and began to recruit students to teach diamond grading courses.
BGGI’s tutors are passionate, knowledgeable and experienced gemmologists, equipped to deliver world-class gemmological education.
With an area of more than 100 square meters, the training room in the center is the training base constructed for gemstone identification and diamond grading. It has a jewelry appraisal area and diamond grading area.
