Gem-A has officially opened submissions for the Photographer of the Year Competition 2026, an annual global contest focused exclusively on the capture of gemmological photomicrographs.
The 2026 programme introduces a new Smartphone Contest category alongside the primary competition and the established People’s Choice Award.
Candidates may submit a maximum of three high-resolution images, captured within the preceding twelve months, by the final deadline of 11 November 2026.
The overall winner will secure a one-year Gem-A membership, a £300 Gem-A Instruments voucher, and front-cover publication on the Winter 2026 edition of Gems&Jewellery.
HOW TO ENTER
Email all entries to editor@gem-a.com. Please send files larger than 10 mb, or multiple files to editor@gem-a.com via WeTransfer.com (this is a free-to-use media transfer service). The competition is now open, and anyone may enter. There is no cost to enter the competition. We will be accepting photos until 11 November 2026.
