It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nigel B. Israel on 10 May 2026.
Nigel was a Gemmologist Jeweller and Book Dealer. He became an FGA 1978 and a DGA in 1979 and was a director and former Chairman of Gem-A for many years, as well as being a former Chairman of The Society of Jewellery Historians.
A tribute to Nigel will be published in the next issue of The Journal of Gemmology
