This Spring we’re coming back with a new series of ‘Meet The Author’ events!

Gem-A Instruments is organising a mini series of talks with special speakers, experts in gemmology and well known in the gemmological industry and associations world.

There are three confirmed events as follows:

22nd May: Tom Chatham (online)

Tom Chatham is currently chairman of the board at Chatham Created Gems & Diamonds, Inc. The firm’s accomplishments include the first successful production of emerald, ruby, sapphires of many colours alexandrite, and lab grown diamond. After experimenting with gemstone growing in the garage of his parents’ San Francisco home, chemistry-loving Carroll Chatham—Tom’s father—started Chatham Created Gems in 1938 after figuring out how to reliably produce emeralds.
